BANDAI MG Gundam MKⅡ Ver.2.0Build #3 Weapon build ②

Hello, I’m the caretaker.
This time, I made a shield for MG Hazel and a machine gun pot to attach to the head, which I found at a second-hand shop.

Hazel Shield

It is a Hazel booster shield found in a second-hand shop. The molding color is similar and it looks like a genuine part.

The back side is also firmly molded. I want to paint a little.

I noticed it for the first time after assembling, but since the mounting parts of the Hazel shield I bought this time and the mounting parts of the MKII shield are the same, it can be installed as it is without processing.

The painting is done with gradation painting.

White Surfacer 1200 Gray → Gray No. 9
Blue Surfacer 1500 Black → Intermediate Blue (gradation painting)
Gray (back side) Surfacer 1200 gray → Phantom gray

Surfacers have recently used both bottle and spray types. Basically, I spray the bottle type with an airbrush. Once the surfacer is complete, spraying is easier if you want to use the surfacer a little after finding and processing the gate and sink marks.
Cleaning the airbrush is not easy either.

Additional parts

I have a hazel shield attached to both hands, but I want to raise it a little, so I will make parts with a 3D printer.

I made a part that can be attached about 20 mm above the attachment part of the shield on the arm and about the back of the elbow.
I am creating data with FreeCAD.

I had a problem that I couldn’t print, but I asked a question on SNS and asked me how to solve it. Also, the film seemed to be damaged so I replaced it before output. It was relatively easy to replace.

I thought I’d make two, but I made a lot more because of some modifications.

There was a problem that I couldn’t print, but I managed to complete it.
I am grateful to the 3D printer for making what I want, even though it is a small part.

3D printers with stereolithography, which are quite cheap, are also sold on Amazon. The possibilities of Gunpla will expand.

Machine gun pot

The last machine gun pot to attach to the head. It is painted in three colors.

Blue Surfacer 1500 Black → Intermediate Blue (gradation painting)
Black (antenna) Surfacer 1500 Black → Burnt iron color
Red (round side details) Surfacer 1000 Red → Gundam Color Char Pink

This completes the painting of all accessories.

I am satisfied that the shield of the haze is also installed in the ideal position. Although it was a small detail, I tried to create a new part with a 3D printer. It’s a lot of fun to be able to make parts with your own ideas.
Next, we will start the basic painting of the main body. I’m going to paint in the atmosphere of a shield.
Thank you for watching until the end.
