MG Enhanced Double Zeta Gundam Ver.Ka Build #4 weathering

ENGLISH

Hello, I’m Duck, the administrator.
This time we are going to weather the last part of the process.
It took me more than a month to reach this process, although I had a hard time because I forgot to paint some parts during the process and there were so many parts.
So I would like to give the atmosphere of the Double Zeta Gundam, which has repeatedly gone into battle, with this weathering.

chipping

The first step is chipping.
The enamel paint is thinned a little to express the colour flaking.
This time, black and titanium silver are used.
Aiming at the parts that are likely to be scratched, mainly the edges of the parts, the paint is applied with a light touch of the brush tip.

We have tried to achieve a natural colour peel so that it does not look deliberate.
This time we used two colours, but the titanium silver was hardly visible on the white part.
The backpack is dark blue, so the black is hardly noticeable.

Melamine sponge and brush

I used a brush with a shortened brush tip for dry brushing for chipping the Jesta I made last time and the Double Zeta this time.
It was relatively easy to use and I could do the chipping with the brush still assembled, so it was easy to do the armpits and so on. It may be a good idea to use different brushes depending on the situation.

shadow blowing

This work involves adding soot stains etc. such as verniers.
This work gives it a cool atmosphere with a sense of use all at once.

This time, enamel paints in black and dark grey are sprayed on.
The black paint is applied near the muzzle of the vernier and beam rifle, and the dark grey paint is applied around the areas that have been heavily stained by chipping.

This work is also done while keeping an eye on the overall balance and spraying as much as possible while the model is still assembled so as not to stain one part too much.

completion

The weathering has been completed.
A matte topcoat is sprayed on after the shadow spraying is finished. I used a matte finish, but for some reason it ended up looking semi-glossy… strange.

So all the work has been completed. It’s a short sentence, but it took about two days. All the work took longer than usual.
I think it was worth it, and the result is pretty cool.

Thank you for reading to the end.
