Red Frame Kai · Weathering
For this build, I wanted restrained battle wear: selected paint chips and a little soot-like shadowing, not damage on every surface.

Chipping with a dry-brush-style tool
Earlier projects used a small piece of sponge, but for Red Frame Kai I applied the chipped effect with a dry-brush-style brush. I lightly touched Tamiya XF-1 Flat Black enamel onto places where damage seemed plausible.

Shadowing with diluted black
The airbrushed shadow pass used heavily diluted Tamiya Flat Black enamel. The goal was to add grime around thrusters and connect the chipped surfaces to the rest of the model. This part of the work took roughly a day.

An important distinction
The original post mentions Tamiya Weathering Master as a possible technique, but specifically says it was not used on this Red Frame Kai build. This English record therefore does not claim it was applied.
The final look
Once the shadows and chipping were added, the model felt more used and mechanical. I kept the effects controlled so the shaded red and white armor remained visible.
